TARA ARTS HAS A RANGE OF EXCITING THEATRE PROJECTS IN DEVELOPMENT INCLUDING:

Moliere's THE MISER, in a new version by Hanif Kureishi, set in modern Mumbai - the metropolis that lives & breathes the conjunction of money and sex which drives Moliere's comedy. The version will be developed through workshops this year.

SACRIFICE, by Rabindranath Tagore. In preparation for the 150th anniversary of the great Indian poet-playwright's birth next year, we're workshoping the original, Bengali, version of Tagore's greatest play, workshops developed at the ALMEIDA Theatre in spring 2010.

MIRANDA, a monologue by Farroukh Dhondy -  developed at RIVERSIDE STUDIOS in summer 2010 before touring to the Ednibrugh Festival and India with dancer/actor Ankur Bahl,

JANE EYRE - a new stage adaptation by Deepak Verma, set in modern Kolkatta, is another project under development.

MINI SKIRTS TO BURKHA - Yasmin Alibhai-Brown's new one-woman show is in the process of being developed through this year.

THE GITA - we continue our exploration of this great Indian philosophical dialogue about the ethics of war, working with actors, dancers and musicians.

JOB - in preparation for the 400th anniversary of the publication of the King James Bible, we're exploring some of the key stories of the Old Testament. Does Job's dialogue with God echo Arjuna's with Krishna in The Gita? Amongst the many questions we hope to find answers for...
